about the author

Dave Owen

Dave Owen went to Averett University in Va. There he studied business, played basketball and golf and by grace finished on time. Although he wasn't interested in things of God during his college years, after moving to Raleigh NC and working for 4 years in the business world God opened not only his heart to a vibrant relationship with Jesus but the opportunity to do college ministry for 15 years at Providence baptist church. He has had the joy of serving students in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area for many years and loves seeing the college generation live on mission for Jesus and connect with the local church and her mission. He now serves as the outreach pastor where he oversees the mission's efforts and serves as a member of the teaching team. His joys in life are Jesus, his wife and best friend of 17 years, Julie, their 4 incredible high energy children and serving the local church to fulfill her mission of making disciples. He has served at Providence for 19 years.
