Notable Points:

  • It is important to determine your philosophy of ministry.
    • How does your theology get put into practice.
    • Have high expectations for what your students can handle.
  • Connect:
    • There are no major events during the week.
    • Affinity: encourage students to reach out to groups they are already in.
    • Proximity: encourage people reach out to students who live near you.
    • Let the students lead the students that are there.
  • Equip:
    • Coaching is important. Allow people in the community who have already led missional communities to teach and mentor young leaders.
    • Sometimes conferences can be a useful tool to equip leaders and upcoming leaders who are faithful.
    • Ask students what they feel they need and teach on these topics to your leaders.
  • Mobilize:
    • Missional communities are inherently gospel centered and assist in mobilizing.
    • From the beginning the goal should be to have faith that God will bring you people.  Then teach them and send them out wherever they are called.
