Notable Points:

  • Freshten: For the first ten days they have a different event specifically for freshman.
    • Freshman are looking for friends and fun.
    • Some events are worship centered, some relaxed (smaller and more relational), and some more intense (bigger and more action)
      • When events are smaller they tend to be more student led.
  • Examples of events:
    • Dance party, campus tour, movie night, and puppies and popsicles
  • How do you help prepare students
    • Meet, invite, and share
      • Meet: connect with freshman and get their phone number
      • Invite: invite to all these events
      • Share: use the opportunity at events or meetup to share the Gospel
  • What’s the impact?
    • It can impact the amount of interns and students involved in summer programs.
      • It increases the number of leaders you have within your ministry.
    • If you reach a freshman you have four years to train them and they can have a big impact.
