Lead

Episode 180: Catalyst

Why Invest In College Students As Future Leaders

On today’s show, Tyler Reagin of Catalyst, joins us to share about leadership and how to prepare yourself and those around you for leadership.

How to help college students prepare to lead:

  • Build Character
  • Focus on Integrity
  • Develop Intentionality

Tyler mentioned ways to be intentional to grow as a leader. He said ask people out to lunch and be prepared with questions to honor their time. Don’t ask them to be a mentor, just ask for one hour.

Other ways to develop students into leaders include:

  • Reading leadership books
  • Listen to Podcasts
  • Listen to leaders you respect

Help students to realized that you are standing on the giants who went before you. Thank them publicly and show your gratitude to help your students learn to be grateful and develop an attitude of humility.

Hard worker + great character = Leader

Leadership is influence – John Maxwell

A leader gives life, opportunity and love. A life giving leader – will always have a following. As leaders we are giving Jesus to everyone around us. When you care for people you give life to the people who are near you.

The faster you can become pleased with how God made you, the quicker you will be the leader God wants you to be. Based on Psalm 139
